70-76 million is a win and a fail. Numbers suggest that ps3 lost more than the ps2 made. Biggest number that no one talks about is marketshare. Sony lost a major percentage of marketshare in ever market. PS3 is a win for gamers but in no way was it a win from a business standpoint. How is going from an 70-80% marketshare to 30 a win?

Numbers sold is great if you turn a profit. Only microsoft and nintendo made a profit this gen. The losses that sony had this gen is more than they made in the ps2 era.
I think Ps4 will be the mid level console in terms of power with xbox720 & steambox being the most powerful. Sony has lost a lot of money this gen with ps3 & vita, so I expect a system at around $349-399.

Vita is a great piece of tech but when your selling rate is on the pace as the Sega game gear, there is a serious issue
3 million is not a bad number..... if it achieved that number over a month or two. Vita is a not doing good. To put it in perspective, Samsung galaxy note 2 sold 3 million in the US in 7 days and its not on all carries yet.
why would microsoft worry about exclusives after this generation? Microsoft beat Sony with less than 10(being generous)exclusives. This is not the ps2 days anymore where exclusives decided a consoles sales. Multiplats had a larger impact than exclusives this Gen. Going forward i don't think exclusives will impact next Gen either

While its great to see the PS3 slim slim #forrealrealnotforplayplay - my biggest gripeis the lack of a price drop. I thought it would be $149 this Christmas. But from a business standpoint Sony has to recoup from it's massive losses this gen and I'm sure theyre selling this at a profit now.
It's a great idea for the people that don't plan on downloading or installing anything .maybe cloud saves will come in to play. I have no use for one since my 60gig is still chugging away. Next systems I'll buy will be ps4/Xbox 720/Wii U

They have to announce ps4. I feel its a strategic move to regain marketshare in the US where they were beat pretty handily this Gen. Its important to announce first & launch first.
